White Rabbit Red Rabbit

About the play

ABOUT THIS PLAY
We dare you NOT to Google this play.

THIS PLAY IS SEALED INSIDE AN ENVELOPE.

Each night, the actor about to perform has never seen it. In fact, there is a new actor every performance, and they’ve only been told what is absolutely necessary.

WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT is a lively, global sensation that no-one is allowed to talk about. Its award-winning playwright, Nassim Soleimanpour, is Iranian. His words have escaped censorship and are awaiting your audience. Slyly humorous and audaciously pointed, this "theater entertainment meets social experiment" is unlike anything, and will make you question everything. Have fun!

(2022)
In March 2021, 92 theatres in 33 countries performed WRRR on the same day, as part of Aurora Nova’s LET THERE BE THEATRE initiative. And this year, Available Light has been invited to join them.

There is no Director. We have held no rehearsals. Ian Short, our intrepid performer for the night, has not even read the script; he’s simply not allowed. The script is sealed in an envelope, and will be handed to him for the first time after he steps onto the stage.

The New York Times described White Rabbit Red Rabbit as “A playful, enigmatic, and haunting show that takes on a gravity that prickles your skin, and keeps taking unexpected turns that often lead us back to the relief of laughter.” But don’t tell Ian. We don’t want to spoil the surprise for him…
